Common CENTS Building Stronger Communities Through Teamwork and Giving Back

At CORA, we believe that businesses thrive when they give back to the communities they serve. That’s why we’re proud to highlight the incredible efforts of Common CENTS™ Solutions, Inc., a CORA portfolio company, whose team recently demonstrated the power of teamwork and community impact during their Annual Training and Learning Weeks. These initiatives not only strengthen internal collaboration but also make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Painting for a Purpose: Transforming Healthcare Spaces

During their Annual Training Week, the Common CENTS™ team took a unique approach to team-building by participating in Hospital Art, PaintFest. This initiative, in collaboration with the Foundation for Hospital Art (hospitalart.org), allowed employees to channel their creativity into something truly special: painting vibrant murals to be donated to hospitals and healthcare facilities. Many of these facilities are Common CENTS™ customers, making the initiative even more personal and impactful.

Hospital environments can often feel sterile and overwhelming. However, art has the power to transform these spaces into uplifting and comforting areas for patients, families, and healthcare workers. By dedicating their time and artistic talents, the Common CENTS™ team contributed to creating a more positive atmosphere for those in need of healing and care.

We are incredibly proud of this team for taking the time to support the communities they serve, reinforcing the idea that corporate social responsibility can go hand-in-hand with professional development and team-building.

Supporting Early Literacy: A Book Drive with a Big Impact

Giving back doesn’t stop at Training Week. During their Annual Learning Week in Atlanta, the Common CENTS™ leadership team, led by Russ Bishop and Shannon Dulinsky, took the initiative to organize a book drive benefiting Children Read, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to providing free books to preschool-aged children.

Why is this so important? Because early literacy shapes a child’s future. Consider these statistics:

📖 61% of lower-income families have no children’s books at home.

📖 Children who are read to for 1,200 hours before kindergarten thrive, yet lower-income children only average 25 hours.

📖 A child’s brain reaches 90% of its adult size by age three, making early reading critical to cognitive development.

By collecting and donating books, the Common CENTS™ team is playing a small but significant role in bridging this literacy gap and giving young children the resources they need to succeed in school and beyond.

Making a Difference Beyond the Workplace

The dedication of Common CENTS™ to community service reflects CORA’s broader mission: supporting businesses that make a difference. Whether through art that brightens hospital walls or books that ignite a love for reading in young children, these acts of kindness showcase the power of collective efforts in driving positive change.

A big thank you to the entire team for their unwavering commitment to giving back. At CORA, we celebrate initiatives like these that inspire others to step up, lend a hand, and make an impact where it’s needed most.
