WHAT IS THE ACQUISITION PROCESS LIKE?

Let's walk you through a typical acquisition process.

Introductory Call
Have a call with one of our M&A professionals so we can learn about each other and determine if there is a path forward.
Preliminary Questionnaire
We request a limited amount of data to help us conduct our early stage diligence.
Offer
We provide a written offer for your consideration.
Due Diligence
A deepdive review of your business, including an in-person visit.
Generally a 6-8 week process.
Closing
After due diligence is complete, you will sign the purchase agreement. The agreement serves as the execution of the final contract and brings you to the final steps of the process.
Through a decentralized business structure, you will have the freedom to continue to run your business autonomously. Alternatively, if you have chosen to exit the business, you will work with us on succession planning to ensure the right leadership is in place.

post-acquisition

What is life after an acquisition?

We aim to keep your business unit decentralized, and never look to consolidate critical functions such as R&D, sales, and support. We do look to leverage our centralized general and administrative functions in order to remove distractions from your business, and allow you to focus on what you do best. Every acquisition is different, so we don’t have a standard playbook to apply to every company acquired. We work with you to review your business opportunities and challenges and look to leverage best practices learned from our hundreds of software companies owned across CORA, Jonas and Constellation. This process will be stewarded by a dedicated Integration Manager.

TRANSPARENCY

CORA is an experienced acquiror that prides itself on being transparent and consistent on its acquisition approach. We recognize we’re not always the right fit for all companies and their motivations in a sale. That's why we’d love to have a conversation to understand your company’s history, your ideal partner in a sale, and your aspirations after an acquisition - whether it’s to retire on a beach, take your business to the next level as part of CORA, or maybe even build a portfolio like many of our Portfolio Managers have done.

“The Jonas family of companies was a great permanent home for our family business. It was clear from the beginning that CORA shares our belief of taking great care of our employees and customers. They stand behind their ‘Software for Life’ promise.”
